I am the one who gets to capture the emotion of that day so that my couples can go back and re-experience that joy for years to come. – Kassey
A few things to know: I describe myself as a people person. I enjoy being around people and I love hearing their stories and about their experiences. Helping people and being useful in times of stress is one of my strengths – which is why I love weddings! Leading up to the wedding I am able to get to know two people and hear about who they are. On the day of the wedding, I am able to witness their happy beginning together. Ultimately, I am the one who gets to capture the emotion of that day so that my couples can go back and re-experience that joy for years to come. It is quite the opportunity!
Brief bio: I grew up in a small town in southern Alberta and graduated with a psychology degree from the University of Lethbridge. I am currently a Case Worker in the city of Lethbridge. Although casework is my full time job, photography has always been, and will continue to be my full time passion.
At a young age I was able to explore the basics of dark room photography, portrait photography, studio photography and landscape photography. My first gig happened after high school, when a friend of mine who was a fan of some of my photos requested that I take her engagement photos. I was excited to discover that she was so pleased with the photos that she wanted to book me for her wedding. I spent the next year seeking every opportunity to improve my photo skills in preparation for the wedding!
For the last 4 years I have jumped at every opportunity I have come across to learn. One of those opportunities included meeting Amy through RedTree Photography. She has been an amazing mentor, and a wonderful friend. She has been a large part of my photography journey in the last 3 years.
