BEST OF 2018: WEDDINGS, ENGAGEMENTS & MORE

With the birth of my first baby in January of 2018, I was already starting my year off right! Firstly, I wouldn’t have to be pregnant anymore – secondly, I would make up for the lack of winter sessions that I was able to photograph at the end of 2017 in the 2018 winter season! Here are a few of my favourite images from 2018! Thank you so much to the 42 couples who trusted us with their wedding this year, and the countless others who hired us for other sessions!

My first session back was with Margriet & Quinn in Red Deer by Great Chief Park! We had a little bit of sunlight that afternoon, so we were able to play around with it a little bit!

Emily & Tyrell met me at the Silver Creek Golf Course by New Norway (I used to work there while in High School – fun fact!). We ended up with a bit of snow nearing the end of the winter, so that was nice!

Escaping the snow is always a good thing, especially when it’s with a couple like Amy & Evan in Puerto Vallarta!

After I got back from my wedding in Puerto Vallarta, I pretty well immediately boarded a plane to Cancun to meet Kayla & Mike at the Azul Fives!

It’s always nice to take a break from weddings to photograph some adorable families! I photographed Corey & Mallory’s growing family at the Rosebush Tea House which is only minutes from where I grew up!

As you can see, the weather really started to change with these next Edmonton engagements! The snow was gone, but we had that gorgeous timeless backdrop that you get with early Spring!

My first wedding of “official” wedding season was with Emily & Ty at the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise – the perfect way to kick off wedding season. That venue was an absolute dream – and it helps that my couple could be models in their spare time.

From Lake Louise, I headed back to the Red Deer area for a family friends wedding – Jen & Chris. Some of their photos are my favourites of the entire year! Who doesn’t love a good farm wedding?

From one farm to another, Margriet & Quinn got married by Red Deer as well! Who doesn’t love a good cow photobomb?

I hadn’t been to Sirocco Golf Club since my first year of photographing weddings, so I loved going back with Carrie & Corey for their engagement session. Yes, this was a creepy little shack that I’m pretty sure had a homeless person living in.

Spring Break Flower Farm – I have no words to describe how perfect that venue is. So stunning – and a waterfall to photograph at? Yes please.

From mountains to more mountains – I went from the Crowsnest Pass to Maligne Lake for Brittney & Cliff’s wedding.

With the largest bridal party of the year – I photographed Paige & Jeremy’s wedding at the River Cree Casino in Edmonton. We got rained out during formals and that was the highlight of the day!

Ever since moving to Edmonton (about 2 years ago) I wanted to photograph at the Oasis Centre – Jessica & Ross made that dream a reality!

With summer in full swing – I had a flood of sessions and weddings!

I love that I am able to photograph such a variety of weddings – from farm weddings to weddings in downtown Calgary. Lauren & Edwin got married in Calgary, and I was in love with those Urban backdrops.

Since I spent a large portion of my adult life in Lethbridge, it is always nice to go back and photograph those familiar stunning landscapes. I had two Lethbridge weddings in the same weekend – first with Laura & Josh, and then with Julie & Jonathan!

Julie & Jonathan are still my tallest couple to date – fun fact.

Keshia & Aviskar ended up with two engagement sessions (since we got rained out the first time at the parliament).

I love rain, so I was super excited when Jem & Matt were willing to photograph in the pouring rain for their engagement session!

The beginning of September, we had some beautiful weather, but it quickly took a turn after Julie & Ben’s wedding by Pigeon Lake.

This session was extra special since it was my sister’s pregnancy announcement – not only did we never expect her to have kids, but she ended up announcing that they were having identical twins!

Kristine & Curtis ended up with one of the coldest days to get married, but they were amazing – we photographed through the cold and they never complained once!

Fast forward to cute pups and fall colours – with Holly & Kyle down in Blackmud Creek.

Remember these two? Keshia & Aviskar ended up with MUCH nicer weather for their second half of their engagement session!

The snow fell for Amy & Corey’s Session at Blackmud Creek

We had warmer weather in October than we did in September this year! I made the 7 hour trek to Cherry Creek Estate for Carrie & Corey’s mountain wedding.

Fall is the time for  family sessions, and engagement sessions!

And, the moment the snow falls – I’m outta there. First stop, Cancun with Amy & Corey.

Next, Puerto Vallarta with Jovanna & Brandon.

From +35 to -20 in the span of a week – but look at that fresh snowfall!

Last sessions of the year, all in Canmore! Also, my last wedding of the year with Samantha & David!

I cannot wait to see what 2019 has in store for us!
