There are some sessions that feel extra special before they even begin, and Nicole and Kelsey’s engagement session at Riverside Nature Trail was exactly that.
After three reschedules due to unpredictable spring weather, we were all more than ready for this session to finally happen. And in the end, the wait could not have been more worth it.
Riverside Nature Trail is one of those hidden gems for engagement photos near Edmonton. With its winding paths, soft natural textures, and open spaces that catch the light beautifully, it creates the perfect setting for couples who want something relaxed, romantic, and timeless. On this particular evening, everything came together. The weather was warm, the air was still, and the light was that soft, glowing kind photographers dream about.
From the moment we started, Nicole and Kelsey were completely at ease with each other. They slipped into a natural rhythm, laughing, walking, and simply enjoying the moment together. It is always my goal to create space for couples to just be themselves, and these two made that so easy.
One of my favorite parts of this session was how the golden light wrapped around them as the evening went on. Riverside Nature Trail really shines during golden hour, and this session was a perfect example of why I love photographing there. The combination of beautiful light and genuine connection created images that feel both effortless and full of emotion.
Sessions like this are such a good reminder that sometimes delays and changes lead to something even better than originally planned. If we had shot on any of the earlier dates, we would have missed this exact light, this exact feeling, and this exact experience.
