Redwater Alberta Farm Maternity Photography | Lisa & Logan

I first met Lisa & Logan back in 2020 when I photographed their engagement and wedding. It’s always such a privilege when clients invite me back to document another chapter of their lives, so getting to photograph their maternity session was especially meaningful.

Over the years, I’ve had the chance to see them a few times in between. I photographed Logan’s brother’s wedding and one of Lisa’s friends’ weddings, so they were never completely out of my orbit. But it had still been a while since I had photographed the two of them together, and it was so nice to reconnect.

For their maternity session, I drove out to their home in Redwater, Alberta, and this ended up being exactly the kind of session I love so much.

There is something incredibly personal about photographing people at home. Rather than simply choosing a beautiful location for photos, we get to document them in a place that actually belongs to them. Their home, their property, their surroundings, and all of the little details that make this season of life uniquely theirs.

This was also such a beautiful setting for farm maternity photography in Alberta. There is something about photographing an expecting couple on their own property, surrounded by open space and the landscape they know and love, that makes the images feel so much more personal and authentic.

One of my favourite things about being a photographer is getting to watch families grow over time. I photographed Lisa & Logan when they were engaged, then on their wedding day, and now as they prepare to welcome their baby. Being invited back for these different milestones is something I never take for granted.
