BEST OF 2015: Weddings, Engagement’s & More

A New Year Reflection: Best of 2015

As 2015 comes to a close, and 2016 begins – I love to reflect on those weddings and photo sessions that I have enjoyed the most over the year. I love being able to see that each year gets better than the last, and that I can continue to strive to get even more stunning images for my wedding clients.

The 2015 wedding season began in January with Erica & Greg’s winter wedding in Lethbridge. These two had absolutely amazing weather, so we were able to take some gorgeous images down in Indian Battle Park. Below are a few of my favourite images from their Lethbridge wedding:

Before wedding season began, I of course took the opportunity to get some winter engagements and a couple in the early spring! Here are a few of my favourites from those sessions in Edmonton, Calgary, Waterton, Camrose and Banff The busyness of the wedding season really began at the beginning of May for me, with Suzy & Kaldoon’s spring wedding in Calgary, Alberta. Their wedding was definitely an excitement – with about 1000 guests, they set the record for ‘largest wedding ever photographed’ in my books! They had a traditional Lebanese wedding with a crazy amount of dancing right up until the bride & groom send-off.

The following weekend was an exciting one – Alicia had asked my husband & I to photograph her and Andrew’s Niagara Falls wedding, so we flew out east to be there! Picking favourites from that wedding is almost too difficult. Right from her getting ready to the ceremony and the reception – everything was so spectacular.

Nadine & Owen have a one in a kind love story. Although these two have moved to Australia in order to be together, I couldn’t have been happier to get to know such a sweet couple. Here are a couple of my favourites from their Lethbridge wedding.

June began, and with it came some gorgeous weather for weddings in Camrose, Red Deer and Banff. Here are a couple of my favourites from Naomi & Peter’s Camrose wedding.

I was so excited to photograph my first Banff wedding for some dear friends of mine, Kathryn & Geoff. They got married at the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel – a stunning backdrop. Jamie & Curtis’s wedding took place at an acreage just outside of Alix, Alberta. This Red Deer wedding was extremely hot, but very green and beautiful. Here are a couple of my favourites of these two.

Just to take a little bit of a break from weddings, the spring of 2015 was also filled with some amazing families and graduates that I would like to share a few images from now. These sessions took place in Waterton and Lethbridge.  With July came some gorgeous weddings in Winnipeg and Banff. Here are a few of my favourites from Rachel & Brady’s Winnipeg wedding. Those two were so natural in front of the camera that every image was perfection.  Next was the Norquay wedding of Charmin & Lee in Banff, Alberta. I loved their non-traditional wedding celebration.

August was my busiest month of 2015 with weddings in Lethbridge, Banff, Claresholm, and Camrose. Before I post my favourites from those weddings, I’d like to share some favourite images from an engagement between Kristin & Drew that I photographed in Banff at the end of August.

The first of my August weddings was Rebecca & Dylan’s wedding in Lethbridge. It was very warm and sunny for their celebration! Here are a few from that beautiful day. Photographing elopements has to be one of my favourite things in the entire world. Gord & Candace got married on top of Sulphur mountain in Banff, Alberta and my photos from their wedding are some of my favourites to date.

One of my hottest weddings of the year would have to be Alexa & Josh’s farm wedding out by Claresholm. There wedding had a western flare, as well it was a hunters dream. Here are a few favourites from their wedding.

August decided to cool off quite a bit for Ashley & Cody’s Camrose wedding. I loved the storm clouds that we were able to capture!

Nikki & Alex got married on a VERY hot day in September in Lethbridge. Here are a few from their wedding. Before I preview my October weddings, I would like to share a few images from engagements that I photographed in September. These engagements were taken in Lethbridge, Trochu, Camrose and Edmonton. October is one of my favourite months to photograph weddings because of all of the beautiful colours. Melissa & Rhys were the first to get married in October in Lethbridge, Alberta. It was rainy all day, but they were tough enough to go outside for a few.

To finish off 2015, I will share a few of my last favourites from other various sessions including Maternity, Family & Couples. Thank you to all of my wonderful clients for making 2015 my most successful and fun year ever! I am looking forward to 2016 and all of the weddings to come! Happy New Year.
