There’s something extra special about small-town weddings, and Melissa & Will’s Barrhead celebration was the perfect example of family, community, and love coming together. Kristina, one of my talented associate photographers here at Redtree Photography, had the honor of documenting their big day — and every detail was filled with personality and heartfelt touches.
From DIY florals to family-supported décor, their wedding was a true reflection of who they are as a couple. If you’re planning a wedding in the Barrhead area, this real wedding is full of inspiration and showcases some amazing local vendors.
The Dress & Bridal Party Looks
Melissa found her wedding dress at a bridal discount pop-up show, and while she isn’t sure of the designer, her gown was made complete with professional alterations from David’s Bridal. The bridesmaids also looked stunning in their dresses from David’s Bridal, who did an amazing job with the fittings and alterations.
Will and his groomsmen opted for a sharp, timeless look. Will’s pants, jacket, and shirt came from Moores, while his vest and tie were from Tip Top. Together, the bridal party’s style struck the perfect balance of elegant and classic.
Hair & Makeup
Melissa’s look was completed with hair styling by Sarah Beason from Barrhead. Her soft, romantic styling tied her entire bridal look together beautifully.
The Florals & Décor
One of the most personal details of the day was Melissa’s flowers — hand-designed and created by her mother. Not only were they gorgeous, but they also carried sentimental value that made them truly special.
For décor, the couple kept things family-oriented, with Will renting from Special Event Rentals and their entire family pitching in for set-up and tear-down. This collaborative effort gave their wedding a warm, heartfelt touch that guests won’t soon forget.
Ceremony & Reception
The ceremony was officiated by Pastor Glen McBride from Thorsby, while the reception had a personal twist with Zack O’Leary, Will’s brother-in-law, stepping in as the MC.
Catering was provided by Sugar and Spice Catering, owned by Mel Clasper, a beloved local Barrhead business. Guests raved about the food, which brought even more warmth and community spirit to the celebration.
The wedding cake came from Elieneke’s Bakeshop in Barrhead, providing a sweet ending to an already perfect day.
The Party
When it came to music, the couple skipped the traditional DJ and instead let Will take the reins with the help of YouTube. It was relaxed, fun, and totally them — the perfect soundtrack to their night.
A Heartfelt Barrhead Wedding
Melissa and Will planned their own wedding with love and intention, proving that meaningful details and strong community ties create the most memorable celebrations. Kristina captured everything beautifully, from the emotional ceremony to the laughter-filled reception.
