It was a chilly day despite the fact that it was mid-August, but you cannot beat that overcast sky. Ashton & Wes got married on the family farm – land that has been in their family for about 200 years. Their original plan was to have their ceremony on the land that will be given to the two of them, but they were unable to clear the area in time. Instead, we headed out that way for a few formals that overlooked the pond.
I cannot tell you how much we love farm weddings. Maybe it is because I grew up on a farm, or maybe it’s just that our backdrop is never the same. Either way, I love it. Ashton & Wes’s wedding was an absolute dream – and I am always happy when we are able to spend some time doing night shots.

Wes got ready in his Uncles house, right on the same property as the ceremony.
Ashton had a very cozy getting ready location, a tiny canvas tent within sight of the ceremony spot. It was a bit crowded, but I was very thankful to have my 14-24 mm lens (and that I am only 5″3).
Our first location for formals was on the same property. They had beautiful Sunflowers, and a gorgeous outlook to the river.
We made our way to what was supposed to be their ceremony spot (the land where they will build a home together) to do some last formals. I am so jealous that they get to raise their family in such a stunning location!
Apparently Wes likes to get stuck, so we staged a fun shot where Ashton was pulling him out.
Wes’s dad had some smoke bombs, so we figured that would be a fun way to end the evening. Well, that and some sparklers!
