Fall Family Photos Near Edmonton | A Beautiful Evening Family Session

There’s something so special about fall family photos in Alberta. The warm evening light, changing colours, fields and wildflowers all come together to create a beautiful backdrop for capturing this season of family life.

I recently had the pleasure of meeting Robin and her family at the acreage for their family photos, and we had such a beautiful evening together. The light was absolutely perfect, glowing through the wildflowers and creating that soft, warm look that makes fall photography so magical.

One of my favourite things about photographing families at the acreage is having so many natural settings to choose from. Rather than being limited to one backdrop, we can wander through the fields and let the kids explore while we capture genuine moments along the way.

For Robin’s family session, the wildflowers were in full bloom and the evening light was beautiful. The combination made for some of my favourite kinds of family photographs — relaxed, natural and full of personality.

And of course, we couldn’t visit the acreage without taking advantage of the sunflower row! We finished the session with a few photos surrounded by sunflowers, adding another beautiful element to their gallery.

Being just outside the city gives us the opportunity to take advantage of open fields, wildflowers, sunflowers and beautiful natural light while still being conveniently located for families in Edmonton and the surrounding communities.

Fall is also one of my favourite times of year for family photography. The evenings are often filled with beautiful golden light, and the cooler temperatures make it much easier for everyone to enjoy being outside.

Most importantly, I want family sessions to feel like time spent together rather than a formal photo shoot. We can let the kids play, explore the fields, snuggle up and simply enjoy the evening while I document the little moments in between.
