Jordan and I met through the Medieval Club when I was in my second-year, and he was in his third. We’ve been together for almost ten years and engaged for about four. We both find it hard to say what our favourite moments were because the day was so enchanting and everything we hoped it would be. The venue was otherworldly in its beauty, and even the wind couldn’t hamper our spirits. Walking down the aisle at the church to Jordan to the sound of the violin made everything feel so magical, as did the moment I promised to share my life with him at the church and when we shared our heartfelt vows at the handfasting. Additionally, the speeches had me in tears both with laughter and because all the kind and beautiful words from our parents, maid of honour, best man, and brother-in-law made both Jordan, and I feel so loved. Moreover, my father sang the song to me during our father-and-daughter dance; Jordan’s described his dance with his mother as being similarly sweet and touching. I was able to dance with my stepfather, while my mom danced with Jordan, and all the celebrating that came later really made our night memorable. Jordan’s and my first dance was also a moment we both hold dear, we’d worked so hard on it, and it came together so wonderfully. The glitches of the day were small, but the love we felt and the beauty of the day was tremendous. We were so glad to have our families there to celebrate with us. – Nicole, bride
