Wildflower Field & Acreage Mini Sessions Near Sherwood Park | RedTree Photography

There is something so special about those first few evenings of summer sessions on the acreage — when everything is just starting to come alive.

I met Camilla’s family for the very first time this evening, and it could not have been a more perfect introduction. They had originally hoped for those soft, open field photos (which we absolutely captured), but what made the session even more magical was discovering that a few of the wildflowers had just started to bloom.

Not in full force yet — just enough to add that soft, natural colour and texture that makes summer sessions feel so effortless and organic.

We moved between the open field and the early wildflower patches, giving them a beautiful mix of images — some timeless and simple, others a little more whimsical and full of life. These are the kinds of sessions that feel relaxed, unposed, and genuinely joyful.

And honestly… their little girls completely stole the show. The kind of giggles, curiosity, and sweetness that you just can’t plan — only capture.

When Do the Wildflowers and Sunflowers Bloom?

Right now, the wildflowers are just beginning to appear, which means sessions over the next few weeks will have a soft, natural look with hints of colour.

The sunflowers are still on their way and haven’t bloomed yet — but they are coming. If you’re dreaming of those bold, golden sunflower images, the best timing will be mid to late August.

Acreage Mini Sessions Near Sherwood Park

Every year, I open a limited number of sessions on our private acreage just outside of Sherwood Park. These sessions are designed to be relaxed, beautiful, and incredibly easy for families.

You’ll get:
• A mix of open field and wildflower (and later sunflower) backdrops
• Natural, candid moments with gentle direction
• Space for your kids to just be themselves
• That golden evening light that everyone loves

These sessions are perfect for families, couples, or even updated photos of your kids as they grow.

Booking for August

I’m currently booking into mid to end of August, which is typically the best time for both wildflowers and sunflowers on the property.

If you’ve been waiting for that perfect mix of summer colour and warm evening light, this is it.

Spots are limited each year to keep the experience relaxed and personal, so if you’re thinking about booking a wildflower or sunflower session near Sherwood Park, I’d love to have you out.

If you’re looking for a Sherwood Park family photographer or are interested in wildflower field mini sessions or sunflower sessions near Edmonton, feel free to reach out and reserve your spot.
