Sunflower Family Photos Near Sherwood Park | A Magical Morning in the Wildflowers
There is something so magical about family photos in the early morning, especially when you add a field of wildflowers, soft golden light, and an adorable family like Sydney’s.
I recently met up with Sydney’s sweet family for their family photography session, and the morning light was absolutely beautiful. The soft glow through the field and wildflowers created the dreamiest backdrop for their photos.
While my main sunflower patch isn’t quite blooming yet this year, that doesn’t mean we are out of beautiful flowers! There are some pretty sunflowers growing by the shop on my acreage, along with plenty of wildflowers, and they made the sweetest little backdrop for this family session.

The Magic of Morning Light
One of my favourite things about outdoor family photography is taking advantage of beautiful natural light.
Morning sessions can have that soft, glowing quality that makes photographs feel warm and dreamy. When the sun is low, it filters through the grasses and flowers and creates gorgeous backlighting around the family.
That was exactly what happened during Sydney’s session. Between the morning light, wildflowers, and little sunflower patch near the shop, we were able to create a beautiful and unique setting for their family photos.

September is one of my favourite times for family photography near Sherwood Park. The evenings start to cool down, the landscape begins transitioning into fall, and there is still plenty of beautiful greenery and seasonal colour around the property.
