BEST OF 2016: Weddings, Families & More
A NEW YEAR REFLECTION: THE BEST OF 2016
As 2016 comes to a close, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on some of my favourite moments and memories from this past year. I work with even more wonderful clients every year, and I love that I am able to create some artwork for each of them!
2016 began with a chilly winter engagement with Trinity & Ken for their Winter Waterton Engagement session.
Next, we make our way to Banff for a couple of snowy Banff Engagement Sessions. The first was taken at Johnson Lake with Natasha & Mitch and the second at Bow Falls, Banff with Katelynn & Matt.
I absolutely love it when I am asked to take photos for surprise proposals! This session was taken at Johnson Lake in Banff, Alberta with Summit & Arsh.
This next session is one that I especially love. It was a snowy Waterton engagement with Elif & Memo.As you probably would have already noticed by now, I am obsessed with snow and mountain engagements! Here is one of Lian & Ken at Johnson Lake in Banff.
There is no better way to break up a snowy winter in Alberta than to fly out to the Dominican Republic for a destination wedding with Shanda & Mike.
Obviously one destination wedding wasn’t enough, considering how harsh our winters can be so I flew straight to Mexico for Alia & Darren’s Destination wedding!
With it getting warmer back in Alberta, we moved to a few gorgeous spring sessions! This next session with Christy & Blair was actually just a fun creative night session for myself and Kassey (my lovely associate) to experiment! We had so much fun with the fake fog and some sparklers.
I love spring maternity sessions, especially with a couple as sweet as Karly & Brad. These images were taken down in Indian Battle Park, Lethbridge.

With spring, comes family sessions! Here is a favourite from Tanya’s gorgeous family in Indian Battle Park.
By this point, I was SO ready for wedding season to begin – and what better way to kick it off than Jen & Marcin’s intimate wedding in Banff, Alberta.
Shawna & Nick met me in Indian Battle Park for their Spring Engagement. At this point, I want to share a few different images than I wouldn’t normally post (since they are not my typical couple or family shoots). I photographed some creative promotional images for a very talented musician, Dana Cherii in Crowsness Pass.
This next engagement session set a record for the most rain during a photo session without stopping! It was pouring the entire time, but we just kept shooting with Samantha & Travis at Lake Minawanka, Banff.
Elif was an absolutely stunning bride. Their wedding took place in Calgary, Alberta. Their formals were taken at Heritage Park.
Larissa & Mike were amazing despite the cold and rainy weather down in Indian Battle Park for their engagement session!
Finally, we were able to get some hot weather with Brienne & Cody’s Bashaw wedding!
We had some gorgeous golden light for Krystal & Dan’s Camrose engagement session.
I have some wonderful memories with Kristin & Drew on their wedding day, where we got rained out and had to get rescued!
I love remembering how warm it was for Cheyene & Kyle’s Popson Park Engagement Session in Lethbridge.
Michelle & Jason were willing to hike to the top of the mountain with us in Kananaskis, so that’s what we did for their engagement session!
There is nothing more beautiful than a mother to be and when she wears a dress that is so stunning. Here is one from Janet’s maternity session down in Indian Battle Park, Lethbridge.
Rachel & Jason’s wedding in Calgary was so stunning. Here is an image down in fish creek.

We were able to drive out to Winnipeg and over to Grunthal for Lisa & Lees gorgeous country wedding.
Angela & Leo had us take their photos at the Devonian Gardens just outside of Edmonton, Alberta.
My husband, Ryan & I were able to fly to Nova Scotia for the next wedding and it was such a stunning location! Martha & Tanner got married on the beach. We headed back to Alberta again for Lian & Ken’s country wedding by Ponoka!
Before we made our official move to Edmonton, I managed to fit in a couple more of my southern Alberta engagements – including Darran & Yvonne at Lundbreck Falls.
