A Spring Session at Mactaggart Sanctuary with Maxine’s Extended Family

Some sessions feel a little extra special, and this was definitely one of them. Maxine and her family aren’t just clients—they’re genuinely some of our good friends, which makes photographing them year after year even more meaningful.

There’s something so special about getting to document the people you do life with. Watching their families grow, seeing the kids change, and capturing those in-between moments—it never feels like work. It feels like preserving memories for people we truly care about.

This year, we headed to Mactaggart Sanctuary, and it was absolutely gorgeous—even this early in the season. The soft tones, natural textures, and quiet beauty of the space made the perfect backdrop for their session.

We were lucky enough to get a little kiss of sunshine, which brought the most beautiful warmth to the images. That kind of light always feels like a gift, especially this time of year.

Extended family sessions can sometimes feel like a lot, but not with this crew. There’s so much ease, laughter, and connection between them—it all comes together so naturally.

Maxine, we love you guys. It means the world to us that you trust me to capture your family every year.
