I recently had the sweetest at-home newborn session with Leah and Nick in their beautiful St. Albert home. It’s always such a joy photographing them — I’ve had the honour of capturing every chapter of their story, from their engagement and wedding photos to maternity sessions and now welcoming their new baby. Watching families grow and being invited back into their lives time and time again is one of the most rewarding parts of what I do.

There’s something so special about newborn at-home photos. The comfort of your own space allows for those real, relaxed moments — snuggling on the couch, soothing your little one in the nursery, or simply soaking in all those tiny newborn details. This style of lifestyle newborn photography focuses on connection and emotion over posing, creating images that feel true to your family.

Leah and Nick’s home had the most beautiful light pouring in through the windows, and their baby was so calm and content throughout the session. We captured everything from those tiny baby stretches to quiet moments together as a family. Sessions like this are a reminder that you don’t need to leave the house to create timeless newborn memories — sometimes the most meaningful images come from right where life is unfolding.
