Edmonton Extended Family Photos at Mill Creek Ravine South
It’s been about a week since I spent a morning with not one, but two wonderful extended families at Mill Creek Ravine South in Edmonton—and I’m still smiling about it. The first was Adrienne’s crew, which felt like such a full-circle moment for me. About three years ago, I first met Adrienne when I photographed her husband’s extended family. This time, I had the privilege of photographing her side, which made the experience even more special.
One of the greatest joys of being an Edmonton family photographer is watching families grow and change over the years. Getting to know both sides of Adrienne’s family and seeing how the kids have grown has been such a gift. These sessions are more than just portraits—they’re milestones, little time capsules of love, connection, and all the personalities that shine through.
And of course, I couldn’t resist capturing plenty of kid candids. I always say the in-between moments tell just as much of the story as the posed portraits—the silly faces, the giggles, the way cousins interact when they think no one’s watching. Adrienne’s family was full of those moments, and I can’t wait to share more of them soon.
Mill Creek Ravine South is one of my favorite spots for extended family sessions in Edmonton. The trails, open spaces, and tree-filled backdrops make it the perfect location for a relaxed yet beautiful session. Whether you’re gathering your entire family together for the first time in years or making it an annual tradition, it’s a setting that allows everyone to feel comfortable while creating timeless portraits.
Extended family photos are about more than just one morning together—they’re about celebrating your family’s story and preserving it for future generations. I’m so grateful I got to capture Adrienne’s family at Mill Creek Ravine South, and I can’t wait to share even more from this session soon.
