Intimate Edmonton Elopement at Home & MacTaggart Sanctuary | Edmonton Elopement Photographer

There is something incredibly special about elopements. The simplicity, the intention, and the way every moment feels deeply personal. McKenna and Jon’s Edmonton elopement was exactly that — intimate, meaningful, and beautifully effortless.

We began the day at their home, where they chose to exchange vows in a space that already held so much of their story. At-home elopements have a way of stripping everything back to what truly matters. No distractions, no pressure — just the two of you, fully present in the moment. As an Edmonton elopement photographer, these are the kinds of moments that feel the most honest to capture.

McKenna looked stunning in a gown from The Bridal Boutique, designed by Anais Anette, paired perfectly with jewellery from Michael Hill and Poppy Finch, and shoes from Poppy Barley. Jon wore a timeless Canali suit from Harry Rosen, which complemented the overall feel of the day so effortlessly. Every detail felt intentional and elevated, while still staying true to the relaxed nature of their elopement.

Their ceremony was beautifully led by officiant Wayne Paterson, creating a heartfelt and personal experience that reflected who they are as a couple.

After their ceremony, we made our way to one of Edmonton’s most beautiful natural locations — MacTaggart Sanctuary. If you are planning an elopement in Edmonton and want a location that feels peaceful, romantic, and surrounded by nature, this spot is always a favourite. The winding trails, tall trees, and soft light filtering through create the perfect backdrop for portraits that feel timeless and organic.

McKenna’s hair was styled by Jenness Crozier of Iterum Studio, with makeup by Tammy Neron, giving her a soft, natural look that photographed beautifully in both settings. Their florals by Poppy & Whimsey added the perfect romantic touch, tying everything together with an organic, elegant feel.

One of the sweetest details from their day was their cake by Flirt — the perfect way to celebrate such an intimate wedding.

What made this day even more incredible is how much magic we created in such a short amount of time. It still amazes me how a simple, relaxed timeline can result in photos that feel this full and meaningful. McKenna and Jon were completely present with each other, and that always translates into images that feel real.

Additional thoughtful details included McKenna’s nails by Candy Kiss Nails and their rings from Tiffany & Co., along with her additional jewellery pieces from Michael Hill and Poppy Finch — each element adding to the overall story of the day.

If you are considering an elopement in Edmonton, know that it doesn’t have to be complicated to be beautiful. Whether it’s in your home, in a meaningful outdoor space like MacTaggart Sanctuary, or a combination of both, your day can be exactly what you want it to be.

As an Edmonton elopement photographer, I am always here to help guide you through locations, timing, and creating a day that feels true to you. And if this day is any indication, even a short and simple elopement can result in something truly unforgettable.

I can’t wait to share more from McKenna and Jon’s day soon.
