Lindsay & Matt’s Extended Family Session at My Sherwood Park Acreage

I had the pleasure of finally meeting Lindsay & Matt and their beautiful extended family at my acreage just outside Sherwood Park. While this was my first time meeting them in person, they were certainly not new faces to me!

Megan, one of the photographers on my team, photographed Lindsay & Matt’s engagement session and wedding. I also edited all of their images, so in a funny way, I felt like I had already experienced so many of their important moments with them. It was really special to finally meet them and their family in person and have the opportunity to photograph them myself.

There is something I absolutely love about extended family photography. Getting everyone together, especially when there are little ones involved, creates so many opportunities for genuine moments and connections. Rather than focusing only on perfectly posed photographs, I love capturing the personalities, relationships and little interactions that make a family unique.

We were also incredibly lucky with the light last night. The evening sun was beautiful and soft, creating that warm, glowing look that makes outdoor family photography at the acreage so special. Between the beautiful surroundings and such a lovely family, it was an easy evening to photograph.

And those two little girls! They were absolutely beautiful and such a joy to photograph.

I love welcoming families to my Sherwood Park acreage for family photography. The acreage gives us plenty of variety without having to travel between locations, with open fields, trees, long grass and beautiful sunset light all within a short walk. It makes it easy to create a gallery that feels varied while still telling the story of your family.
