Northeast River Valley Park Edmonton: Winter Engagement Session

Northeast River Valley Park Edmonton: Winter Engagement Session

I photographed Brooklyn and Bryce’s engagement session last weekend at North East River Valley Park, and it was my first time shooting at this location — I absolutely loved it.

If you’re looking for a beautiful winter engagement session location in Edmonton, this spot is such a hidden gem. From open snowy spaces to tree-lined pathways, it has so much variety, especially in the winter months when everything feels extra quiet and magical.

We started off exploring the covered bridge, which was such a fun feature to incorporate into their photos. It adds so much character and makes the location feel unique compared to other river valley spots.

But my favourite part of the session came a little unexpectedly — when I got my car stuck (completely fine, not stressful at all!). It actually led us to wander a bit further than planned, and we ended up finding the most beautiful snow-covered tree pathway. The light filtering through the trees and the fresh snow made for the dreamiest winter engagement photos. Those unplanned moments always seem to turn into the best ones.

Brooklyn and Bryce were so easygoing and fun to photograph. They embraced everything about the session, which made it feel relaxed and natural — exactly what you want for engagement photos.

If you’re planning a winter engagement session in Edmonton, North East River Valley Park is definitely a location worth considering.
