There is something so beautiful about summer evenings in Edmonton, especially when you get that warm, golden light that seems to make everything feel a little more magical. Megan had exactly that kind of evening for Adriana and Shayne’s engagement session at Mill Creek Ravine South.

A Special Family Connection

Adriana and Shayne’s engagement session was especially meaningful for us because we’ve had the privilege of photographing so many weddings within their family over the years.

One of our favourite parts of being wedding and engagement photographers in Edmonton is when a family continues to come back to us for milestone after milestone. There is something incredibly special about seeing familiar faces, watching families grow, and getting to photograph the next generation of celebrations.

It is something we never take for granted.

We have loved getting to know this family through the years, and they are genuinely some of the most amazing people. Being trusted to photograph Adriana and Shayne’s engagement photos was such a wonderful continuation of that relationship.

Mill Creek Ravine South is a beautiful choice for summer engagement photography in Edmonton. The greenery is lush, the trails create natural movement throughout the session, and there are so many different backdrops within a relatively small area.

For couples who want engagement photos that feel romantic but still natural, this location gives us plenty to work with. We can photograph quiet moments walking together, cuddling close on the trails, and those candid interactions that often end up being some of our favourite images.

And when the sun starts getting low?

That is when the magic happens.

The evening light filtering through the trees gave Adriana and Shayne’s session such a beautiful, warm glow. It created the perfect atmosphere for romantic summer engagement photos without making the images feel overly posed.
