A Beautiful Family Session in the Camrose Area

I love those little small-world moments that happen through photography. When Baukje’s family originally booked their family session with me, I had no idea that both Baukje and her husband actually work with my husband, Ryan, in Camrose. What a fun surprise to discover when we met!

It made this Camrose-area family photography session even more special because I was not only getting to photograph their adorable family, but also getting to know people who are already connected to our family in another part of life.

Their family was so much fun to photograph, and I loved the opportunity to spend some time together and capture the personalities and connections between everyone. Family photography is about so much more than simply getting everyone looking at the camera. I love capturing those little interactions, genuine expressions, and the moments that show what your family is like right now.

And can we talk about the long grass right now?

I absolutely LOVE it.

The fields are looking so beautiful at this time of year, with the tall grass creating so much texture and movement throughout the images. It gives family photographs that natural, relaxed feeling that I love so much.

As an Edmonton and Sherwood Park family photographer, I am always looking for ways to incorporate the natural environment into a session. Rather than making everything feel overly posed or perfectly arranged, I love letting families interact naturally while using the landscape around us to create beautiful, timeless photographs.

There is just something about tall grass, soft light, and a family spending time together that makes for such beautiful images.
