A Little Bit of Everything: A Fall Family Photography Session in Edmonton
A Little Bit of Everything: A Fall Family Photography Session in Edmonton
I recently photographed Adam, Tara & Isla, and I seriously cannot believe how much little Isla has grown since last year!
One of my favourite parts of being a family photographer is getting to see families year after year and watching their kids grow and change right in front of my camera. Every session is another little snapshot of who they are at that particular stage of life, and I absolutely love getting to document it for them.
Their session gave us a little bit of everything Alberta weather has to offer: sunshine, rain and plenty of wind.
Alberta is too funny with its constantly changing weather!
But honestly, I wouldn’t have it any other way. Some of my favourite family photographs happen when the weather isn’t perfectly predictable. A little rain can add atmosphere, wind can create movement and changing skies can give us beautiful, soft light that we simply wouldn’t get on a completely clear day.
This is one of the reasons I don’t want families to look at a less-than-perfect forecast and immediately assume their session won’t be beautiful. We can work with the weather, embrace what we’re given and create something that feels real to the season you’re in.
Fall Family Photography in Edmonton
Fall is one of my favourite times of year for family photos. The changing colours, beautiful light and cooler temperatures make it such a wonderful season to document your family.
And if your kids aren’t perfectly posed or the weather doesn’t cooperate, that’s okay. I’m much more interested in capturing the way your family actually interacts, the little personalities and the moments you’ll want to remember years from now.
If you’ve been thinking about booking fall family photos in Edmonton or Sherwood Park, now is the time to get your session on the calendar. Fall dates are limited, and those beautiful autumn colours don’t stick around for long.
Whether we get sunshine, clouds, wind or even a little Alberta rain, I’ll be ready with my camera.
Let’s make some magic out of whatever fall decides to give us.
