A Snowy Engagement Session at the Acreage | Nicole & Andrew

I met up with Nicole & Andrew at my acreage for their engagement session, and it was one of those winter days that reminds me why I genuinely love photographing this time of year. Yes, it was chilly. Yes, it was cold. But winter sessions have a quiet, peaceful feel to them that you just don’t get in any other season — and fresh snow never disappoints on camera.

Nicole & Andrew made the trip out and absolutely embraced the cold like pros. Winter engagement sessions definitely require a bit of toughness, and they showed up with the best attitude, ready to make the most of it. The snow-covered trees, soft light, and calm surroundings created such a beautiful backdrop for their photos, and it was so fun capturing this season of their story in a way that felt natural and true to them.

I’m always so thankful when couples trust me enough to venture out in winter, especially to the acreage. It’s a space I love photographing in year-round, and winter might honestly be one of my favourite times to shoot here. The simplicity of the landscape, paired with cozy layers and genuine connection, makes for such timeless images.

A big thank you to Nicole & Andrew for braving the cold and making the drive out. Your session was such a reminder of why I’ll always happily say yes to winter engagement sessions. If you’re dreaming of snowy photos, I’m always available for winter sessions at the acreage — I love it, cold and all.
