BEST OF 2025: WEDDING & FAMILY PHOTOGRAPHY BY SHERWOOD PARK
As this year comes to a close, I’ve been taking some time to reflect on what a full, meaningful, and surprisingly beautiful season it has been for Red Tree Photography.
This year looked different than I originally imagined. Spring was much quieter for me as I stepped back from shooting while recovering from knee surgery. Slowing down wasn’t easy, but it forced me to rest, heal, and gain a new appreciation for the work I love so deeply. When I was able to return, fall arrived with full force — and it was busier than ever.
The fall season was packed, golden, emotional, and unforgettable. From long days chasing light to meaningful moments shared with families and couples, it reminded me exactly why I do this. I had the honour of travelling for weddings this year as well, from Grand Prairie all the way to Cancun, which never stops feeling surreal. Being trusted to document such important moments, near and far, is something I will never take lightly.
This year also marked another huge milestone: I’ve now been photographing full time for 11 years, and I’m heading into year 12 of doing this work I love. That alone feels incredibly humbling. To still feel inspired, challenged, and deeply connected to this craft after more than a decade is something I’m endlessly grateful for.
The studio has officially been open for a full year now, and watching it grow into a space where families come to create memories — especially during the Christmas season — has been incredibly special. This winter, I also began welcoming extended families into the studio for the first time ever, something I’ve wanted to do for years, and it’s been such a joy to see generations gathered together during the quieter months.
None of this would be possible without the incredible support of my clients, families, couples, and community. Whether you’ve been with me for a decade or just stepped in front of my lens for the first time this year, thank you. Thank you for trusting me, for showing up wholeheartedly, and for allowing me to tell your stories.
I’m heading into the new year feeling grateful, inspired, and excited for what’s ahead. Here’s to more connection, more beauty, and more moments worth remembering.
