Spring Engagement Session at the University of Alberta Botanic Garden | Meagan & Ryan

There’s something truly special about spring at the University of Alberta Botanic Garden. The blossoms are in full bloom, the greens feel almost unreal, and everything comes together to create the most romantic setting for photos. I met up with Meagan and Ryan here earlier this afternoon for their engagement session, and it could not have been more perfect.

We chose an early afternoon time slot—and honestly, it couldn’t have worked out better. Later that evening, a major storm rolled in, but during our session, we had the most beautiful soft light filtering through the trees and blossoms. Spring sessions at the University of Alberta Botanic Garden are always a bit magical that way—everything feels fresh, vibrant, and full of life.

Meagan and Ryan were such a dream to photograph. They are so natural together, easygoing, and completely in sync, which makes my job effortless. From quiet moments under the flowering trees to relaxed walks through the gardens, their connection really shines through in every image.

If you’re considering an engagement session in Edmonton, the University of Alberta Botanic Garden in spring is one of the most stunning locations you can choose. The blooming trees, lush pathways, and variety of backdrops make it ideal for couples who want something timeless, romantic, and full of natural beauty.

I left this session feeling so excited for their wedding this August. If their engagement session is any indication, it’s going to be an incredible day filled with so much love and joy.

Meagan and Ryan, I cannot wait to capture your wedding—it’s going to be such a good one.
